Dominican Republic Online Gambling License

LicenseAmaya to launch site by the end of 2011
This week a statement came from Canadian online gambling developer Amaya Gaming Group, announcing that the company obtained a license to operate its online gambling offering in the Dominican Republic, including slots, table games like Blackjack, Roulette, Sicbo, Craps and Baccarat, as well as online poker.

Online gambling is likewise legal and there are a number of online casinos operating out of the Dominican Republic. There are a few dog and horse race tracks and people have the option to place bets either at the venue, through the Internet or through some of the casinos that are accepting bets. A Dominican Republic Gambling License covers all forms of online gambling including: Casino, eSports, Poker, Sports Betting, Lotto, Bingo, Horseracing, Bitcoin Casino, Fantasy Sports, Games of Skill and other gaming-related activities without being required to obtain one license for each individual product.

The launch of an online gambling site should be realized before the end of the year, probably by the Q3 of 2011, added the company, which recently obtained a license to operate an SMS-based mobile lottery in Kenya.
GamblingAmaya President and CEO David Baazov on this occasion stated: 'We are extremely pleased to have secured this license to operate online gaming in the Dominican Republic. We believe our extensive gaming library and technological capabilities have been key deciding factors in securing this license. As one the fastest growing segments of the entertainment industry, online gaming still represents a significant untapped market segment for Amaya.'

'Based on our investigations and due diligence, we have decided to authorize Amaya with the only license of its kind to operate online gaming in the country. As such, this is a sector of the gaming industry that is rapidly developing in an illegal way. Amaya was granted the license to redirect this already existing but illegal gaming activity to a site that is secure, legal and trustworthy,' commented Conrado Abud, Director of Casinos for the Ministry of Finance of the Dominican Republic.
